New Tenovus Cancer Callback Service

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you could benefit from our new Cancer Callback scheme!
Launched on September 1st, it offers support to all cancer patient in Wales going through treatment regardless of where they live, the type of treatment, or type of cancer they have.
The Tenovus Cancer Callback scheme will run for the next two years and is being funded by a grant awarded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing following a successful pilot project, and we`ve three experienced nurses who are part of the Cancer Callback team: Jo-Anne Smith, Dianne Harding and Louise Jenkins.
Our aim is to provide support to every single patient in Wales having cancer treatment, so if you are currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, surgery or any other treatment for cancer and feel that you`d benefit from the support, register your details with us (or ask your healthcare professional to do it on your behalf)
Within seven days of registering with us, we`ll offer you access to a telephone support system that monitors and evaluates your progress on a long-term basis! We`ll also ensure that one of our specialist Cancer Callback nurses phones you at least one week, one month and six months after you register with us, at days and times that suit you. You can spend as long as you want on the phone, and we’ll aim to answer all of your questions about your cancer (no question is too small or insignificant!)
If you then find you`ve questions outside these calls, you can contact us on our Freephone Support Line anytime between 8.00am to 8.00pm - seven days a week.
We believe that regular telephone contact with a trained cancer nurses is a practical and positive way of supporting people through their cancer journey and our Cancer Callback nurses are trained in giving health and wellbeing advice and can also provide information about cancer support services that you might need, such as counselling, welfare rights, benefits advice and coping with your cancer!
