BRINGING CANCER TO THE CLASSROOM
Teenage Cancer Trust has developed a range of new and exciting educational resources which are being launched during 3-7 March 2014. During this week, we want to encourage teachers and youth workers to try our free downloadable interactive resources and new lesson plans on topics associated around cancer such as body image, fertility and bullying. Click on this LINK to find out more.
Data collected by Teenage Cancer Trust in 2013 shows that less than 25% of students know three or more signs of cancer, so we aim to empower teaching staff to use these resources and feel confident in talking about cancer and the impact the disease can have on young people.
During this week in March, we will be promoting our materials online and via social media. We are also giving away a goody bag prize to encourage social media activity and get teachers, students, parents, siblings and educational institutions to be aware and think about this important subject.
